What This Community Is For

Lancaster – Ancient Astrology in Practice and Theory is the open community of this practice. It brings together students, beginners, and curious practitioners in a recurring rhythm of classes, chart sessions, conversation, and shared study.

Meetup is the organizer tool: it handles event listings, RSVPs, and notifications. This site carries the substance — what the group studies, how the sessions work, and why practicing astrology together matters in a way that solitary study does not.

Membership in the Meetup group is how you access session listings for both the community gatherings and the Foundations curriculum sessions.

This Group Is For You If…

You're New to Astrology

No prior knowledge is required. The community and the Foundations curriculum are designed to welcome people who are beginning from scratch.

You Want to Practice, Not Just Learn

You've read books, taken online courses, or had readings — but you want to actually practice chart-reading in community, not just absorb content.

You Want to Go Deeper

You're a consultation client, a tutoring student, or someone who has already encountered this practice and wants ongoing community engagement alongside the individual work.

What Happens in Sessions

Foundations Class Sessions

Structured weekly sessions following the Foundations curriculum: arrival, practice debrief, teaching, chart work, and a new practice invitation. These are the formal instructional sessions of Module 1.

Each session combines teaching with hands-on chart work so the material stays grounded in practice rather than abstract theory.

Community and Communal Sessions

Periodic sessions that are not lectures: participatory gatherings oriented around shared practice, open inquiry, collective observation of the sky, or communal and creative activity.

These are part of the work, not extras. Doing something together — not just reading about it or being told about it — builds a kind of understanding that individual study cannot. This tradition was always practiced in community, and these sessions honor that.

Three Layers of Practice

Astrology practiced in community is richer than astrology practiced alone. The community group makes all three layers available.

Solo

Consultations & Individual Practice

The one-to-one track. Natal consultations and tutoring are individualized work — orientation, technique, and inquiry at the scale of a single life and a single chart.

Relational

Classes & Conversation

The curricular and dialogic track. Foundations sessions and class discussions bring people into relationship through shared inquiry, chart work, and the practice of reading together.

Communal Practice

Shared Participatory Sessions

The communal track. Periodic gatherings oriented around doing something together — movement, ritual form, making, collective sky-watching — that builds a quality of connection that curriculum alone cannot.
